Mission
The Ambassadors Club will involve a group of active Chamber members in the development and growth of the Chamber through the use of membership recruitment and retention programs.
Why an Ambassadors Club and what is it?
Ambassadors Clubs have been a tradition with Chambers of Commerce. They are a volunteer group who provide critical services by interacting between the Chamber and its members.
The Ambassadors Club of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce will:
- Enlist new members
- Make courtesy calls on our members, let us know their needs and pass on their comments
- Greet our members at Chamber events
- Chamber Ambassadors have a long history as a high value Chamber committee! Chamber Ambassadors are part of a nation-wide network.
Qualifications
Must be employed by a Chamber member in good standing
Must attend five Ambassadors meetings a year
Greet and host at least two events per year
Recruit new members to the Chamber (including participation in membership drives)
Stay informed about the Chamber and its activities
Meetings
The Ambassadors Club meets on the last Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. at the Chamber office.
Time Commitment
Participation in the Ambassadors Club requires a commitment on both the part of the Ambassador and his/her firm. Ambassadors are asked to make a one-year commitment to the organization. They can expect to spend 3 - 4 hours per month establishing and maintaining their assigned contacts. Additionally, Ambassadors are encouraged to attend membership functions and represent the Chamber at designated events.
Duties
Recruit New Members
- Visit with new businesses that open in the community and invite them to become Chamber members
- Recruit at least three businesses to join the Chamber each year
- Participate in membership campaigns
- Attend ribbon cutting ceremonies
Retain Existing Members
- Maintain contact with assigned members throughout year
- Assistance with updating of member information
Greet & Host at Events
- Host and attend ribbon cutting/groundbreaking ceremonies and open houses held by new businesses and new and existing members.
- Assist Chamber staff as greeters, ticket takers, registration and name tag volunteers at Chamber events such as Business After Hours, First Thursday Live, Annual Meeting, etc.
- If you are unable to assist at an event that you have signed up for, you must find your own replacement.
Recognition
Free admission to Chamber events when serving as host with special nametags
Recognition in monthly newsletter at appropriate times
Privileges
Being aware of what is happening in our community. An Ambassador is often the first to know of the events of the community.
A chance to go behind the scenes, tour businesses and discover what makes them a special part of our overall business community.
Representing the Chamber and Clark County to new arrivals, guests and visitors.
Able to meet, interact and network with new businesses and business people.
