Why Buy Springfield

Several economic studies have proven the amazingly positive power of subtle changes in spending habits.  The "BUY  SPRINGFIELD" Committee is building awareness of how spending habits affect the lifestyle of our residents and success of our community!

For every $100 in consumer spending with a locally-owned business, $68 remains in the local economy.  For every square foot occupied by a local firm, the economic impact is $179.

For every $100 in consumer spending with a chain store within the community, money remains in the local economy.  For every square foot occupied by a chain firm, the economic impact is $105.

If you buy out of town $0 remains in the local economy.

That's our point.

It's healthy to find an equitable balance between local, regional and nationally owned companies.  When you buy local, you are making a significant impact both socially and economically in Springfield and Clark County.
