The Springfield-Clark County Safety Council, co-sponsored by the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce and the Ohio Division of Safety and Hygiene, is one of 76 such Ohio councils.
The Division of Safety & Hygiene is funded by a small portion (1%) of your Employer Worker's Comp premiums. The funding provides for a number of direct and indirect services available to the employer. Ohio’s Safety Councils are an outstanding example of both a direct and indirect service. The goal of the councils is to help reduce employer Worker's Comp premiums by enhancing worker safety and health!
Membership in the Springfield-Clark County Safety Council will enable your organization to take advantage of the savings afforded by eliminating / reducing workplace injuries and illnesses, to say nothing of the positive impact on morale and productivity – the bottom line! Let us show you how, as a leader, you can increase productivity and morale.
Membership is open to all, regardless of Chamber of Commerce membership status. There is no membership fee. All that is necessary to maintain membership in good standing is:
-
Timely submission of the Semi-Annual Safety Report, which is a key for annual BWC safety recognition and our financial support, and
-
for the designated safety representative, alternate and/or CEO to participate in ten of the twelve monthly meetings.
If you are interested in becoming a member, please see our Enrollment Form.
General membership (breakfast-buffet) meetings, featuring current safety topics, are conducted the second Tuesday of each month, 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott downtown Springfield. The cost is $12.00 per pre-registered person or $15.00 per person if not registered and includes the buffet breakfast.
The Council also conducts and/or supports many other community, business & industry safety & environmental programs! Our annual, ‘showcase’ event is the nationally recognized Forklift Safety Rodeo conducted to promote the safe & efficient operation of powered industrial trucks.
